The PolisMaker program focuses on the management of urban transformation with a practical approach providing different methods, skills and tools: urban and environmental legislation derived from European and national laws, management of international contracts, negotiation processes and conflict and risk management provide some examples.
Such skills will find their context in a specific holistic approach aiming at highlighting the existential dimension of space and the economic and social dynamics of each specific area also with regard to everyday life.
The Master aims at training a new professional, i.e the PolisMaker.
” The PolisMaker is a facilitator, an urban strategist supervising the transformation of the city and the territory with an holistic perspective. The PolisMaker is a professional who combines technical knowledge and sensitivity to the well-being of inhabitants. Contributing to the management of territory, he takes into account the existential space and the economic and social dynamics that shape everyday life, combining quality of living and economic development “
That’s how Angelo Caruso di Spaccaforno – professor of Estimation and Project Evaluation at the Politecnico di Milano – defines the PolisMaker, a new emerging professional in the Italian and international labour market.
Caruso di Spaccaforno is the Director of the PolisMaker Master program – Managing the transformation of urban settlements for quality of life and economic development, organized by the Politecnico di Milano.
